Best NBA Player Props Today for 11-22: Bird of Play

After a slow, four-game Thursday, we’ve got eight games on tap for Friday’s NBA slate. There’s a little more at stake tonight, as all the games are NBA Cup Group Play contests.

Scoring props take center court tonight. My favorite NBA picks for November 22 feature two plus-money NBA player props for an established superstar in a phenomenal matchup and the early Rookie of the Year favorite staying hot.

I’m also keen on Atlanta’s breakout forward cashing his combo prop in a visit to the Windy City.

NBA player props for November 22

Prop bet #1: Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 34.5 points

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s scoring line is set at 31.5 with -120 odds, but I love the juicy, plus-money odds on this alternate line. Antetokounmpo is fresh off a 41-point outing against the Bulls, and I’m counting on a second straight 35-point scoring affair.

Antetokounmpo is averaging a career-high 32.1 points per game this season. He’s dropped at least 35 points in two of his last four and three of his last six, and he’s done it in five of 14 games.

Giannis averaged 42.2 points per game against the Pacers last season and hit the Over in three of five appearances. That includes his two highest-scoring games of 2023-24, when he dropped 54 and a career-best 64. Since 2020, he’s averaged 34.7 points per game against the Pacers and scored at least 35 in six of his last nine appearances.

Prop bet #2: Jalen Johnson Over points + rebounds

Jalen Johnson’s encore to his breakout 2023-24 campaign has been even better than the opening set, as the Atlanta Hawks small forward is averaging 19.1 points and 10.3 boards across 15 appearances. He’s cashed the Over on this line in 10 of those games, and I expect him to do so again tonight.

Johnson has posted a double-double in three of his last four, averaging 19 points and 11 boards in that span. I was tempted to take the -105 odds on him to record another one, but this combo prop is a little safer with odds that aren’t too much shorter.

Johnson went for 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists the last time he faced the Bulls, and he came up just shy of 28 points+rebounds. The Chicago Bulls have allowed the fourth-most rebounds and second-most points to opponents, and Johnson has averaged 30 points+rebounds on the road compared to 28.8 at home.

Prop bet #3: Jared McCain Over 19.5 points

Jared McCain is the betting favorite in the NBA Rookie of the Year odds after a strong start to the 2024-25 season and a blistering six-game stretch. He’s averaging 15.6 points and 2.3 triples across 22.6 minutes through 14 appearances.

Over the last six, McCain’s playing time has jumped to 34.7 minutes while averaging 25.5 points and 4.2 triples. McCain has scored at least 20 points in each of those six Games, and I’m betting he gets there again tonight.

Tyrese Maxey returned from a six-game absence on Wednesday and logged just 20 minutes. Maxey is expected to see his playing time ramp up tonight, but McCain can still be relied on as a second or third option on offense with Paul George sidelined. 

Maxey’s return has driven the odds down on McCain’s scoring line, and I’m happy to take the Over at even money.
