LeBron James Criticized For His Reaction To What Happened To Donald Trump
Former President Donald Trump survived as an assassination attempt this past week.
In the aftermath, multiple big-name athletes and entertainers came out to offer their thoughts on what had transpired. Stephen Curry’s reaction, in particular, caused something of a stir.
One person who found himself getting criticized for his reaction to what happened to Trump was Los Angeles Lakers star, LeBron James.
“LeBron does not like Trump, often refusing to refer to him by name. But the events that transpired on Saturday are bigger than both basketball and Politics,” Outkick.com wrote.
“A mentally ill man tried to murder a former U.S. president and almost succeeded. Now, there’s a difference between James and, say, Patrick Mahomes. The latter excused himself from political commentary…
“Mahomes just wants to play Football. We respect that. Conversely, LeBron James wants to be a social advocate in addition to playing basketball. But James can’t be a true advocate of change if he only speaks out when politically and financially convenient.”
As of Thursday afternoon, James has yet to publicly comment on what happened to Trump.
It’s worth noting that the bad blood between James and Trump is a matter of public record. The latter had some not-so-nice things to say about the former a while back. James, similarly, had some unfortunate words for the former President.
Clearly they don’t like each other.
Will Trump and James ultimately be able to find some common ground if the former once again becomes the president of the United States? Time will tell.
