Joe Hart's playing days couldn't have ended more perfectly. The former Celtic goalkeeper rode off into the sunset after winning a double which crowned a stellar career.

During his time in Glasgow, the veteran stopper adorned himself to the Parkhead faithful. He rapidly became a favourite among the supporters, and many were sad to see him retire.

The Hoops are now on the hunt for a new number one, but the impact Hart made at the club cannot be understated.

His time at Celtic and how much he was loved was summed up in his last league appearance at Parkhead.

The limelight was shone on Hart on trophy day, but perhaps one of his most memorable moments in green and white came in the Scottish Cup semi-final a few weeks prior.

The 37-year-old saved the deciding penalty in the shootout against Aberdeen but before a drama-filled afternoon in which he missed a spot-kick, the ‘keeper felt things were going too swimmingly.

Indeed, Hart felt as comfortable in the warm-up that he had to ask goalkeeping coach Stevie Woods to ground him.

“I pulled him (Stevie Woods) about 25 minutes into the warmup”, he said (High Performance Podcast via TikTok).

“I'd been emotional with him previously when I was going to finish (playing).

“I said ‘I feel really uncomfortable, everything feels right'. I said ‘Just keep me grounded', he was like ‘You are, but I will'.

“I was welling up in the warmup and I said ‘Just keep me grounded' because I'm enjoying it, but I'm aware.”
