Lancaster and Cortes appeared overjoyed, but not everyone was thrilled by the news.

Fans of the show sounded off on the news in the comment section of QueensofBravo’s repost voicing their concerns.

“The definition of if you like it I love it,” one person wrote, amid various GIFs reflecting their feelings of distaste.

Another said, “This alone is worth the show being put on pause.” Meanwhile, a different fan commented, “Yikes. This is a mistake.”

Lancaster took the criticism in stride and defended Cortes with a response.

“Thank you to those who chose to send kind words,” he said, along with two prayer hands emojis.

“The rest of ya.. ” he wrote, adding an unamused emoji.

This isn’t the first time Lancaster has stepped up to defend Cortes from fans — and even some producers.

In May, the realtor defended his girlfriend from former “Real Housewives of Potomac” star Candiace Dillard Bassett’s social media shade after the “Drive Back” singer called their relationship “weird” due to the “coddling” she witnessed on the show.

“She’s not sure of what to say or how to come across in the right ways. So she is trying to be as poised and as perfect as possible because she doesn’t want people to hate her,” Lancaster, 27, said of his then-girlfriend on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast.

“She doesn’t want to be too vulnerable, but she doesn’t also want to be too uptight,” he added.

Prior to production being placed on paused for Season 3, Lancaster, who has been on the “Summer House” spinoff show since it premiered in May 2023, also put his foot down with producers and delivered an ultimatum that if Cortes didn’t become a full time cast member on the following season, he would choose to step away from the series.

“At the end of the day, I want her to be there with me this time. That’s how I know I’ll have the most fun,” he said on the “Positively Uncensored” podcast in May.

“It’s fun to party with your friends but, like, real adult vacations, everyone brings their significant others. No one bats an eye about it and you have a great time.”
