Celtic captain Callum McGregor has reacted to his impeccable cup final record, admitting that he doesn’t want anyone to jinx him.

The skipper, of course, has never lost a final he has played in, whether that be at youth or senior level.

The 31-year-old is a serial winner and his elite mentality spreads throughout Brendan Rodgers’ team.

McGregor’s form in finals is nothing short of untouchable, and he wants his critics to wait a while before he eventually loses one.

“I don’t want anybody to jinx me”, he said (Celtic View via RecordSport).

“But then people talk about it and you think: Let’s make them wait a bit longer.

“I’m delighted, you can only prepare so much, you get yourself mentally and physically ready, prepare the team, then there’s a little bit of luck comes into it as well.

“I’m delighted to keep it going, and the more it grows arms and legs, the better you feel about it. When you come back, you arrive into these big Games full of confidence because you’ve got so much to look back on.”

The midfielder maintained his perfect track record at the end of the season gone by as the Hoops defeated Rangers 1-0 in the Scottish Cup final.

Adam Idah’s goal in the ninetieth minute was iconic and will be remembered for generations to come.

With the new SPFL league fixtures set to be announced imminently, it remains to be seen whether the big Irish striker will be signed permanently by the champions.

His impact post-January was incredible, and bringing him in long-term would undoubtedly please the support, and increase the chances of McGregor’s perfect final record continuing.
