1:43 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 3) – Braganza 2/1 (2-star play)

Takes the eye despite being drawn widest of all following an impressive seven-and-a-quarter-length victory in as even furlong allowance contest at Keenealand in April. Raced in third in the early stages of that contest having shown good form when a length second in an allowance optional claiming contest at Fair Grounds in February prior. Broke her maiden here on debut in September last year and with a top jockey in Luis Saez up is taken to complete a double.

2:13 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 4) – Scotland 5/2 (2-star play)

Performed well when coming from off the pace to deliver a head victory when making his debut in a seven furlong maiden special weight contest at Gulfstream Park three months ago. Ridden much closer to the speed when beaten a nose into second having led into the stretch in an allowance over the same trip at Keeneland on his only subsequent start. The Good Magic gelding has worked well here since then and is selected to return to winning ways.

2:45 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 5) – Mission Of Joy 9/5 (2-star play)

Completed a hat-trick when delivering a neck victory in the Grade 3 Florida Oaks over a mile-and-one-sixteenth at Tampa Bay Downs in February. The daughter of Kitten’s Joy delivered her first triple digit speed figure when coming from off the pace to finish a length third in the Grade 2 Edgewood Stakes over the same trip at this venue early last month. Looks up to delivering a fourth win in six starts with top jockey Tyler Gaffalione booked to ride.

3:50 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 7) – Webslinger 8/5 (2-star play)

The son of Constitution has registered two victories from four starts since a gelding operation late last year. Those victories include a first Graded triumph when successful by a nose in the Grade 2 American Turf Stakes over a mile-and-one-sixteenth here last month. The slight step up in distance looks likely to suit and with regular pilot Javier Castellano in the saddle he can help trainer Mark Casse improve on his 16% strike-rate (3/19) at this meeting.

4:55 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 9) – Set Piece 8/5 (2-star play)

Successful in the Grade 3 Baltimore/Washington International Turf Cup Stakes over a mile at Pimlico in September last year the pick has made just three starts since. The most recent of those saw the gelding register a two length third having finished strongly when racing from off the pace in the Listed Opening Verse Stakes over a mile at this circuit a month ago. Taken to deliver a victory following a 50 second four furlong work on turf here recently.
