1:30 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 2) – Air Combat 2/1 (2-star play)

Air Combat showed good form for his previous handler, including when winning by 4.5 lengths in an allowance over 6 furlongs at Churchill Downs at the end of September last year. The son of Blame has been placed since but hasn’t raced since a last of 9 over 6 furlongs at Oaklawn Park in January.

The 4-year-old has shown up well in the mornings and can help Brad Cox to improve on his 28% strike-rate (9/32) at this meeting.

3:01 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 5) – Palace Kitten 5/2 (2-star play)

The veteran Palace Kitten showed good form when registering a nose 2nd in a 6.5-furlong $20,000 claiming contest at Keeneland last month. The pick joined the stable of Jerry O’Dwyer subsequently and debuted for him with a fair 6.25-length 5th over 6 furlongs when contesting a $32,000 claimer at Churchill Downs earlier this month.

The return to a $20,000 claimer is a positive move today and he is taken to deliver his 6th career win with jockey Luis Saez booked for the ride.  

4:01 pm ET Churchill Downs (Race 7) – Attache 2/1 (2-star play)

The 3-year-old Attache showed good form when winning by a length in a 7-furlong $50,000 claiming contest at this venue just under 2 months ago. He followed up a 3rd at Keeneland with an impressive 4.75-length victory in a $50,000 6.5-furlong claiming contest at this track.

The son of Violence joined current trainer Chris A Hartman following that event and is taken to complete a double stepping up half a furlong in distance in his first start in starter allowance company.
