The Foo Fighters have shared details of two tribute concerts after the tragic death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins.

“For our dear friend, our badass bandmate, our beloved brother…Foo Fighters and The Hawkins family bring you the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts,” the tweet read, confirming the news.

Taylor’s wife Alison also issued a statement thanking fans “for the outpouring of love each and every one of you have shown our beloved Taylor,” as well as the band: “We consider every band member and the extended Foo Fighters team our family.”

 “Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee will come together with the Hawkins family to celebrate the life, music and love of their husband, father, brother and bandmate with The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts,” the announcement read, revealing that a full lineup for the concerts will be forthcoming.

“As one of the most respected and beloved figures in modern music, Taylor’s monolithic talent and magnetic personality endeared him to millions of fans, peers, friends and fellow musical legends the world over. Millions mourned his untimely passing on March 25, with passionate and sincere tributes coming from fans as well as musicians Taylor idolized. The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will unite several of those artists, the Hawkins family and of course his Foo Fighters brothers in celebration of Taylor’s memory and his legacy as a global rock icon—his bandmates and his inspirations playing the songs that he fell in love with, and the ones he brought to life,” they concluded.

The band will perform two tribute shows

Taylor, 50, died on 25 March while on tour with the band in Colombia. No cause of death has been announced.

It was reported that he was found unresponsive in his hotel room and his body was seen being removed from the hotel late on Friday night.

Taylor, who was married to his wife Alison, was a father to two teenage children, Oliver and Annabelle.

Taking to the band’s official Twitter account, they wrote: “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins.

“His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”
