Charlie Puth is all set to become “a bigger artist” with his new TV show. The brand new trailer for The Charlie Puth Show has just dropped and here’s everything we know about it.

The singer has just tied the knot with his best friend Brooke Ashley Sansone, and now he has announced his own comedy series The Charlie Puth Show which will premiere on Roku Channel. From the trailer, it’s clear that the show is completely unhinged with a star-studded cast including Will Ferrell, Courteney Cox, John Legend, Wiz Khalifa, “Weird” Al Yankovic, Charlie’s best friend Mike, and many others.

The show is set to become one of the first proper acting credits in the multi-talented musician’s resume. Other than his MVs, Puth also previously starred in a short film with Sabrina Carpenter, That’s Not How This Works, in 2023.

What does the trailer reveal?

The trailer begins with Charlie’s staff advising him that he needs to get back into the “cultural zeitgeist” by doing a reality TV show. To keep things interesting, they suggest he hire more people. So, he recruits Ruby, a Gen-Z assistant, and Corporate Natalie, an iNFLuencer, as his momager. Many other artists like Will Ferrell, Dorinda Medley, Courteney Cox, Wiz Khalifa and Law Roach join him on this hilarious journey.

Next, Puth and his musician friend John Legend try to make a jingle for the Roku Channel. And he also tries to make a country record. Then we see Puth sitting with a group of teenagers who ask him questions about who he has toured with that they might like, and when he mentions Wiz Khalifa, Meghan Trainor, and Shawn Mendes, one of them comments, “Shawn Mendes is the better version of you”.

The trailer also pays tribute to Taylor Swift’s shoutout to Puth in her song “The Tortured Poets Department”, in which she sings, “We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist.” Harkening back to that, the trailer gives us all a cheeky reminder that Charlie Puth WILL be a bigger artist.

When and where can you watch The Charlie Puth Show?

Produced by showrunner Carrie Franklin, David Collins, Rob Eric, Renata Lombardo, Michael Williams, Charlie Puth, Ty Stiklorius, and Mikaela Puth, the six-episode comedy show will be released on The Roku Channel on October 4.

The official synopsis of the show reads “The Charlie Puth Show follows Charlie as he attempts to scale the zeitgeist by going beyond pop stardom to become a multi-hyphenate talent after being told it’s no longer enough to just be a musician.

Featuring artists, comedians and icons from every area of the pop matrix, the famous faces that populate the show help Charlie to navigate his heightened reality where his career neurosis and musical perfectionism often get in the way of his peace and sanity, ultimately parodying the very zeitgeist that Charlie’s trying to conquer.”
