Netflix’s latest show, Kaos has left everyone discussing its unique storytelling and casting. Jeff Goldblum as king of the gods? Yes, please. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Netflix dark comedy, Kaos.
We’ve seen Liam Neeson play the role. We’ve seen Russell Crowe have fun with it. The late great Lance Reddick lent his own gravitas and velvety voice to him. And now, the role has, uh, found its way to the legend that is Jeff Goldblum as he now steps into the shoes of Zeus. Kaos has Goldblum playing the narcissistic god who has to ironically face his “mortality”. Whether you’ve already binged the show or you just want to find out more about it, we’ve got some of the FAQs answered right here.
Filming locations, cast members, storyline, and Season 2: Your Kaos FAQs answered
What is Kaos about?
Kaos is a black comedy series that revolves around three humans who discover they are connected to each other and the Greek gods of old. Up in Olympus, Zeus is having a “mid-life” crisis after discovering a literal wrinkle that signals his age and thus the end of his reign—and also the end of the world.
Who’s in the cast?
Headlining the series is none other than the uber cool Jeff Goldblum who plays the egotistic and insecure Zeus, king of the gods. David Thewlis, who some may know from his role as Professor Lupin in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, plays Zeus’ brother, Hades, king of the underworld, while Cliff Curtis completes the big three as Poseidon. Other cast members include Billie Piper who plays Cassandra, Game of Thrones’ Stephen Dillane as Prometheus, and Suzy Izzard as one of the Fates.
Where was it filmed?
Unlike other iterations of the Greek gods, Kaos trades ancient Greece for a more modern setting (peep Jeff Goldblum in a silk bathrobe and a tracksuit). Of course, that doesn’t mean the locations will be less glamorous. Filming took place primarily around Costa del Sol in Spain though some scenes were also filmed in the city of Málaga. Shooting was also done in Almería, Madrid, and Valencia.
Will there be a Season 2?
Nothing has been announced yet but Charlie Covell, the creator of the show, said in an interview with Cosmopolitan UK that he had envisioned three seasons. Whether that happens is yet to be seen as Netflix has a penchant for cancelling shows despite people loving them.
When was Kaos released?
Kaos premiered on Netflix on August 29.
How many episodes does Kaos have?
Kaos has eight episodes.
What is the show’s rating on review sites?
Currently, it’s rated as a 7.5/10 on IMDB and holds a 69% on Rotten Tomatoes.
How long are each of the episodes?
They’re under an hour long.
Where can I stream Kaos?
Kaos is exclusively on Netflix. All eight episodes are available to stream now.
