Celtic’s pursuit of Sparta Prague’s Peter Vindahl Jensen has taken an intriguing turn with comments from the Danish goalkeeper himself. Translated from an interview with sport.cz, Vindahl Jensen shared his thoughts on the ongoing speculation about his future.

When asked if a move to Celtic would be a step forward for his career, Vindahl Jensen said, “These are speculations that I cannot iNFLuence from my position. I don’t know as much as the media, so it’s a bit strange for me to comment on the situation. Sure, everyone knows Celtic is a big club with a rich History. But so is Sparta. Maybe I would experience a different type of Football, but at the moment I am happy.

“If I were to leave, it would be with the knowledge that it is the best and right solution for me. It could be Celtic, Barcelona, Bologna, or someone entirely different. I do not hide that I want to move forward because I think everyone would like to reach the highest possible level.”

These comments indicate that while Vindahl Jensen is currently content at Sparta Prague, he remains open to a potential move to Celtic. His ambition to reach the highest levels of Football is evident, and he isn’t ruling out a transfer to the Hoops. Celtic continue to face a tough negotiation process with Sparta Prague, who are holding firm on their valuation of over £8 million for the 26-year-old.

Celtic’s need for a new goalkeeper is urgent following Joe Hart’s retirement this summer. Despite having Scott Bain and Benjamin Siegrist to call upon, neither is seen as the ideal number one for next season. Vindahl Jensen’s openness to a move and his evident ambitions make him a prime target as Celtic prepare to intensify their efforts to secure his services.
