Celtic Set to Confirm Five-Year Deal
Celtic are poised to secure the signing of 22-year-old Finnish goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo from Aston Villa on a five-year contract. The move is set to be finalised this week after the two clubs agreed on a fee.
Sinisalo, who has been highly regarded for his potential and performances, is expected to join the Scottish champions for a transfer fee of around £1 million. [Mark Hendry] Negotiations between Celtic and Aston Villa took place over the weekend, leading to a favourable agreement for both parties.

The young goalkeeper is scheduled to undergo a medical, with the official announcement expected shortly thereafter. This move comes as part of Celtic’s long-term solution for the goalkeeping position, following the retirement of Joe Hart. Kasper Schmeichel will come in as the number one goalkeeper while Sinisalo continues his development with the hope of succeeding the Dane in either 12 or 24 months.
Manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to lock in key players ahead of the team’s trip to the USA, ensuring a well-rounded squad as we prepare for both domestic and European comPetitions.
Celtic is likely to return from the USA trip heavier than they came. Kasper Schmeichel is set to meet up with his new teaMMAtes on Thursday in the states once finalising his deal. Bernardo could also make the trip across the pond if a deal is struck in the next few days. No sign of Idah at this moment in time but that work is still going on behind the scenes.
The Hoops take on DC United, Man City and Chelsea during their trip. Hopefully we see some debuts and returns during these fixtures.
