Europa Conference League 2024 quarter-finals and semi-finals draw: Teams, fixtures, dates and pairings
Aston Villa will play against Lille in the 2023/24 Europa Conference League quarter-finals, with 2022/23 runners-up Fiorentina drawn to face Czech side Viktoria Plzeñ. The Premier League high-flyers will play at home in the first leg, with the Serie A starting their tie on the road.
In the other two ties, Club Brugge will host the first leg of their tie against PAOK, while Olympiacos will start with home advantage against Fenerbahçe.
The draw in Nyon also defined the bracket for the semi-finals. The winners of the Aston Villa - Lille tie will face Olympiacos or Fenerbahçe, while either Viktoria Plzeñ or Fiorentina will play Club Brugge or PAOK in the other last-four clash.
Full Europa Conference League quarter-final draw
The first legs of the quarter-final ties will be played on Thursday 11 April, with the second legs following on Thursday 18 April.
Full Europa Conference League semi-finals draw
The two legs of the semi-finals will take place on Thursday 2 May and Thursday 9 May.
What happens if there’s a tie?
The away goals rule is no longer in play in UEFA competitions, which means ties will go to extra time (two periods of 15 minutes) if the teams are level after 180 minutes. If they still cannot be separated, a penalty shootout will follow.
Europa Conference League round of 16 second leg results
Under normal circumstances, Aston Villa’s 4-0 home win over Ajax would’ve been the stand-out result of the round of 16, with a vibrant attacking performance allowing them to swat the Dutch team aside.
However, they were overshadowed by Greek side Olympiacos, who thrashed Maccabi Tel Aviv 6-1 (after extra-time) in Israel having lost the first leg 4-1 in Piraeus.
Where and when will the 2023-24 Europa League final be played?
This year’s Europa Conference League final will be played at Agia Sophia Stadium (AEK Stadium) in Athens, Greece on Wednesday 29 May.
The match will kick off at 3pm ET / 12pm PT.
The home of AEK Athens and currently the second biggest stadium in Greece, the venue was built on the site of the club’s historic Nikos Goumas Stadium and was opened in 2022.
