Dan Hurley’s Wife Andrea Hurley’s Preference Between Lakers, UConn

The basketball world was flipped on its head early Thursday morning when it was revealed that the Los Angeles Lakers were pursuing UConn head coach, Dan Hurley, to be their next head coach.

For days J.J. Redick had been viewed as the frontrunner to replace Darvin Ham in L.A., but that appears to have been an elaborate smokescreen.

“Throughout this process [Dan Hurley] is the coach they’ve been after,” Wojnarowski said.

The deciding factor in whether Dan Hurley ultimately ends up in Los Angeles or not could end up being his wife, Andrea Hurley.

According to The Spun, Andrea Hurley has a clear affinity for staying on the East Coast that could ensure her husband remains with the program that he just won back-to-back college championships with.

“Hurley’s decision comes down to whether his wife wants to go west,” the report noted. “Remember, when Hurley spoke to Kentucky, his wife wanted to stay closer to Jersey.”

At least one fan seemed to agree with that sentment.

“Hot take,” the fan wrote. “Hurley isn’t leaving. He got AK back. He has a solid team. His wife doesn’t wanna move again. He’s a loyalty guy and is fielding offers like anyone would.”

The next few days promise to be interesting. If Dan Hurley does opt to leave UConn for the Lakers, that move will have massive ramifications at both the professional and college levels of basketball.
