Crystal Kung Minkoff leaving ‘RHOBH’ after 3 seasons: ‘It’s so bittersweet’
Crystal Kung Minkoff has announced she is leaving “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” after three consecutive seasons, calling her exit “bittersweet” in a Monday address to fans via Instagram.
“Hi, so I just wanted to share the news that I will not be coming back to film Season 14 of ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.’ It’s so bittersweet,” she said in a video.
“Never did I think I would’ve been asked to do this show in a million years, let alone film it for three seasons,” she continued. “Every single year I was asked back, it was a blessing. It was an honor.”
Kung Minkoff noted that she was particularly thrilled to be the first Asian American cast in a full-time role on the Bravo reality show.
“[It] was a lot of weight on my shoulders that I have since really just understood the magnitude of what that meant for people,” she said. “And I just wanted to thank you guys for being such an incredible support for me.”
The Real Coco founder emphasized that she was also appreciative of having a platform to shed light on her eating disorder struggles and father’s Alzheimer’s battle, therefore helping others facing similar challenges.

“And I hope that I have been [support] for you, sharing my story with my ED, sharing stories about my father and his Alzheimer’s,” she said. “I’ve heard so many incredible stories from you guys.”
The businesswoman — who is married to esteemed director and animator Rob Minkoff — concluded her message by assuring followers that “this is not goodbye,” rather a version of “see you soon.”
She explained, “I have some other things going on that I will be sharing why soon that I’ll still be able to connect with you.”
“Because at the end of the day, that has been my biggest gift of filming this this show — is connecting with so many of you, with your beautiful stories.”
Crystal signed off by reiterating that she is “just so grateful” for the “love and support” she has received throughout her tenure as a “Real Housewife.”

The last installment of “RHOBH” notably highlighted Crystal’s feud with newbie Annemarie Wiley, who was also not asked to rejoin the unscripted series after just one season.
“I just got word today that I will not be returning to ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.’ To say that I’m disappointed is an understatement,” she wrote in part via Instagram last month.
“I was very excited about the opportunity, and I thought following exactly what I was instructed to do throughout filming the last season was the way the ‘game was played,’” she added. “Listening to what I was instructed to do was my rookie mistake.”
“RHOBH” Season 13 — which also starred Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, Sutton Stracke, Garcelle Beauvais and Dorit Kemsley — finished airing on March 13.
