Climbing Fans: A New Place to Boulder and More in Kingston
No doubt that if you live in the Hudson Valley you are familiar with the Shawangunk Ridge. It is one of the Wonders of the Hudson Valley and draws in climbing enthusiasts from all over the world since people first climbed the cliffs in 1935.
Scenic Hudson put together a great narrative online that takes you from the first climb to the excitement people still experience today. Having this great ridge made of quartz conglomerate and sandstone running down the center of the Hudson Valley makes our area the perfect place for a new climbing gym to call home.
New Climbing Gym Mustangs Bouldering Opening Soon In Kingston
Mustangs Bouldering will be opening soon in the Kingston Plaza in Kingston New York which is a short drive from some of the Hudson Valley's best climbing spots. The new 9,000 square foot indoor climbing gym will be geared towards climbers of all skill levels.
They are building what they call a "New Community-Centric Climbing Gym". Not only will they have climbing features but they will also offer a cafe with ample seating that will serve coffee, beer, wine and snacks.
Where is the New Climbing Gym in Kingston
Mustangs Bouldering has take a corner space in the Kingston Plaza which is in walking distance of the Kingston Stockade District and one mile from the NYS Thruway I-87. Mustangs will be offering various types of membership which you can find at mustangsbouldering.com.
The founders, Stephen Bittner and Ivan Vargas have close to three decades of combined experience in climbing. Their goal is to create an inclusive environment for all who want to climb no matter your previous experience.
Climbing Gyms in the Hudson Valley
The Hudson Valley already home to a few climbing gyms which includes The Gravity Vault in Poughkeepsie and BC's New Paltz Climbing Gym. Mustangs Bouldering will be a great addition to this list adding opportunity for climbers in the northern part of the Hudson Valley.
