Once again, Celtic Football Club has found itself in the spotlight on the popular daytime quiz show, The Chase. Hosted by Bradley Walsh, who is known for his affection for the Hoops, the club was the focus of a question that had many fans smiling.

The question posed to the contestant was: “Celtic’s 1967 team were named the Lions of which city?” Without hesitation, and to the delight of Celtic supporters, the contestant correctly answered “Lisbon”. This reference to the legendary Lisbon Lions, who triumphed in the European Cup final against Inter Milan, is a source of immense pride for the Celtic support.

What made the moment even more special was the ensuing discussion between Bradley Walsh and the Chaser. Walsh, displaying his own knowledge, delved into the details with the chaser of that historic match, referring to the legendary manager Jock Stein as “John Stein” – noting that ‘Jock’ was indeed a nickname.

Walsh’s enthusiasm was palpable as the Chaser gave a succinct recap of the Game. They highlighted the significance of the victory, and the goal scorers against Inter Milan which was a monumental achievement from a group of lads born within 30 miles of the stadium.

For Celtic fans, seeing their club mentioned in such a positive light on national television was a treat.

Bradley Walsh’s obvious soft spot for Celtic, combined with the contestant’s correct answer, made for an entertaining moment.
