Bryce James named his five favorite NBA players of all time this past week and the list caught some folks off guard.

As the youngest son of LeBron James and something of a basketball prodigy, people have been following Bryce for years. Regardless of whether he is debuting his new girlfriend to the world or switching high schools four times over the course of a year, he is constantly in the headlines for something.

This week Bryce touched on an interesting subject: his five best NBA players of all time.

“LeBron, Kobe [Bryant], MJ (Michael Jordan), Russell Westbrook, and Carmelo Anthony,” Bryce said.

People were fascinating by the last two inclusions on that list – Westbrook and Anthony. In the case of the latter, LeBron’s friendship with Anthony is a matter of public record. That one could be chalked up to loyalty to his dad’s best friend.

But Westbrook? That pick is just surprising. Westbrook and LeBron hate each other.

Interestingly enough, though – both of LeBron’s kids seem to love Westbrook. It is worth remembering that Bronny, LeBron’s eldest son, played a pivotal role in the Los Angeles Lakers acquiring Westbrook in the first place.

Still, fans were shocked.

With Westbrook clearly being one his favorite players, it will be interesting to see whether Bryce ultimately chooses to model any aspects of his game after him.
