Nuggets Front Office Is Beefing With Coach Mike Malone
The Denver Nuggets front office is currently in the midst of an ugly beef with its championship-winning head coach, Mike Malone.
“There are rumblings,” ESPN’s Zach Lowe said recently on his podcast.

“Rumblings, that the coaching staff and front office, or at least the head coach and the front office, aren’t exactly seeing eye to eye in Denver. To a degree even unusual for the NBA.”
This past summer Denver brass allowed a key role player in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to walk away from the team. Instead, they brought in Russell Westbrook to replace him.
Westbrook immediately started up locker room drama before a single game was played.
It isn’t hard to see why Malone would be frustrated with that.
With Caldwell-Pope gone, now the onus will fall on Christian Braun to fill the void. Whether he will ultimately be able to or not remains to be seen.
Last year the Nuggets followed up an impressive championship campaign with something of a disappointing playoff run where they didn’t even make it to the Western Conference Finals.
The coming season will tell us a lot. If the Nuggets fail to legitimately comPete for a championship once again, it wouldn’t be all that shocking to see both Malone and the Nuggets’ front office start exploring other options.
