After the match, manager Brendan Rodgers addressed the uncertain status of key defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Following a stellar 6-0 win over St Johnstone, Celtic’s focus shifts to what Rodgers describes as the season’s toughest test yet, requiring the team to be at their very best.

Carter-Vickers has been sidelined for the last two matches due to a toe injury, raising concerns about his availability for the upcoming clash in Germany on Tuesday night.

During a post-match press conference, when questioned about whether Carter-Vickers would Travel with the team, Rodgers expressed uncertainty: “I don’t know.

“I’ll know tomorrow [Sunday]. See where he’s at. And then we’ll go on Monday.

“And if he’s not available then, OK. Auston Trusty came in. I thought he was excellent tonight. You’ve seen his pace, you’ve seen his power. He’s playing off that right side, but he’s got good balance in his Game. And I thought he did very, very well.

“So if Cam’s not available, then we have someone that can come straight in.”

It seems to be a day-to-day approach Celtic is taking with Carter-Vickers’ injury, indicating that a decision will likely be made closer to the team’s departure for Dortmund.

The situation places added focus on Celtic’s defensive lineup, especially considering fellow defender Greg Taylor was also substituted at halftime during the Game against St Johnstone, after he felt some tightness in his calf.

Auston Trusty took CCV’s place in the centre of defence on Saturday, and looked good. Alex Valle replaced Greg Taylor at halftime and also looked promising, making it two assists in two Games for the Spanish left-back.
