“We’ve got to fancy ourselves” – Callum McGregor Up For Dortmund Test After Big Saturday Win
Celtic captain Callum McGregor is looking forward to facing Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening after his side put St. Johnstone to the sword in the Scottish Premiership tonight.
The Hoops ran riot in Perth, piling on the agony and putting on the style in a dominant 6-0 victory.
Skipper McGregor got the Bhoys’ fourth of the night, firing into the bottom right corner from range after a short corner.
The midfielder led by example yet again and got a rare rest in the closing stages as Luke McCowan took his place in the engine room.
After this evening’s victory, McGregor doesn’t think he and his teaMMAtes could be in better shape for their upcoming match against Borussia Dortmund.
The Bhoys head to Germany on Champions League matchday two, hoping to continue their perfect start to the season.
“We’re in as good a shape as we’ve been,” he said (premierSports.com).
“We’ve got to fancy ourselves.
“Let’s see if we can go and hurt them.”
Celtic have the right to go into next week with confidence, but Dortmund were runners-up in the Champions League last term.
The Bundesliga side haven’t made the best start to the campaign, although they won by four goals to two against Bochum on Friday night, sending the Hoops a warning shot.
Things are set up for a tasty affair on Tuesday night with two big teams going at it.
