Bloober Team Is Working On Another Survival Horror Game
Bloober Team is busy. We already know that the Polish horror developer is working on the long-rumored-and-finally-revealed Silent Hill 2 remake for Konami, but it's also working on a Layers of Fear sequel and helping produce a live-action Medium TV series. Now, Bloober has just come out to announce another "all-new survival-horror Game."
"Horror fans, rejoice!" Bloober Team wrote on Twitter. "BlooberTeam is working on an all-new survival-horror Game and PrivateDivision steps in as the global publisher. It's all in early development, and we will share more details about this Game in the future."
All-new means we have very little to go on here. We know that Bloober specializes in psychological horror, and that they're adept at working with both established IPs and creating their own thing. Beyond that, we haven't got a clue what this Game could be about.
We do at least know a lot of what Bloober Team is currently working on. Silent Hill 2 seems to be the main project for the developer, having been announced at Konami's October showcase after months of rumors. A PS5 and PC exclusive, Silent Hill 2 will be powered by Unreal Engine 5 and feature all-new controls, combat, music, and sound, as well as a visual glow-up that'll put other remakes to shame. Or at least it better, as the PC specs recommend an Nvidia RTX 2080 or a Radeon 6800XT, which are both pretty beefy video cards.
Layers of Fears is also in development at Bloober. The sequel to Layers of Fear and Layers of Fear 2, Bloober confirmed the third Game in the series will feature a "new story and Gameplay direction" back at Summer Game Fest. It'll be for current-gen consoles and PC and will release sometime in 2023.
And finally, there's the Medium TV show. Bloober has partnered with Platige Image to produce the live-action adaptation of The Medium, which centers around Marianna as she helps troubled souls seek their final solace. We don’t know when or what platform The Medium will release on, Cast, platform, and release dates are all unknown, but we do know that the executive producer of Netflix's The Witcher series, Tomasz Bagiński, will be leading the show.
