One Empty Restaurant in New Paltz Will Have a New Business in 2025
It is hard to keep up these days with the amount of Businesses that are closing. Of course, I would be remiss if I also didn't say that there are quite a few Businesses that are opening.
Over the past few weeks one town, in particular, has had a number of restaurants announce that they would be closing their doors. New Paltz, a town with a SUNY University and plenty of tourism has seen a lot of restaurants say goodbye this year. But last week it seems one closed place may have a new beginning in 2025.
A Large Number of Restaurants Closed in New Paltz this Year
Recently a popular cocktail bar and eatery Huckleberry's announced they were serving their last customer. A family favorite pizza place Village Pizza announced they would be closing their doors. Earlier this year New Paltz lost A Tavola and Schatzi Beer Garden.
If you drive up and down the main street in New Paltz it is no secret that a few buildings have remained empty for quite a few years. Various projects may or may not still be in the works for them.
Business Buildings in New Paltz that Are Still Empty
The old Moxie Cup Cake building once a Jack in the Box still awaits its boutique hotel. The old barn on Water Street is going to be a hotel as well someday. There is the Wells Fargo building which is now rumored to be soon converted into a gym. And of course, the building at 51 Main Street which was rebuilt but never finished and is now for sale.
Even with all this closure as I mentioned earlier, some new Businesses are sending out word that they are on their way to New Paltz. Just this past week Darlings in Tillson told followers on Instagram that they will be landing in New Paltz in 2025, They are looking to set up another location in the Village Pizza building on Route 32 on the north side of the village.
When the news broke the reaction from Darlings Fans and other Businesses in the area was extremely positive. Obvious people are happy the building won't be empty but they are also excited about Darlings becoming part of the New Paltz Community.
