Assassin's Creed Jade Gameplay Footage Has Leaked
Early footage of Assassin's Creed Jade, the mobile Game set in Ancient China that was announced during the most recent Ubisoft Forward, has leaked online.
The leak was shared on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit by Redditor rickreckt, but was originally posted on the Assassin's Creed subreddit by dattuu. They claim that the video wasn't recorded by them, and was in fact posted on a Facebook page called Assassin's Creed Syncposting. It seems likely that it comes from some sort of early playtester, as most Ubisoft leaks do.
The two-minute-long footage itself shows the player character on the Great Wall of China, with the objective of protecting Yongning Village. The player character is apparently at Level 40, which would indicate the mission taking place late in the Game, but it could just be a set level for playtesters to start with, as tutorial messages pop up several times.

We then see the player performing some simple platforming by holding the movement button forward, before getting into combat with a raider. It seems that combat is mostly controlled through a single button press that can be tapped for light attacks and held for heavy ones. After taking a zipline further down the battlefield, a small cutscene plays introducing the player character as Dengling Bai, Juzi of the Mohists.
Whether that means Jade's character is set like Ezio and Altair, or if certain aspects can be customised like in Valhalla and Odyssey, isn't clear from the footage. Another character is introduced named Wei Yu, although the cutscene itself is currently unvoiced, implying there's still a fair bit of work to be done on the Game.
The footage ends by showing the player in some more combat scenes, before moving on to a tutorial on how to assassinate enemies. We don't get to see that happen though, as whoever's playing the Game quickly stops the screen recording.
Although the lack of dialogue and placeholder text shows that there's clearly still some work to be done on Assassin's Creed Jade, it does seem to be pretty far along in development if it's already started playtesting. There's no set release date for Jade, as the reveal trailer only mentioned that it was "coming soon", so we'll have to wait for an official update.
