Prime Video’s Maxton Hall: The World Between Us has been making much noise among young audiences for its blend of romance and drama. The German series has viewers hooked on Ruby and James’ love affair, creating a massive demand for season 2.

Based on Mona Kasten’s novel Save Me, the series follows the story of Ruby Bell, a scholarship student, and James Beaufort, a popular boy from a massively wealthy family, as they go through a typical enemies-to-lovers relationship. Even though the series is full of cliches it all beautifully falls in place. Another successful book-to-screen adaptation for the streaming giant.

Yes, Amazon Prime Video has renewed Maxton Hall for season 2.

While renewing the series, the streamer said in a statement that it has “achieved the largest first-week global viewership for an International Original in Prime Video History.” They went on to add that it has claimed the top position on the Prime Video Charts in over 120 countries and ranks within the top three in more than 50 countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Canada and South Africa.

Maxton Hall Public School becomes the unexpected stage for Ruby’s accidental encounter with an explosive secret. Consequently, the egotistic heir James Beaufort has to handle the scholarship student, leading to an unforeseen alliance.

The initial coNFLict between Ruby and James has been covered hastily in the first two episodes, making it seem somewhat weak. However, the show manages to progress the coNFLict better, improving the tension between the two. The show’s premise — a slow-burn romance between unlikely allies — is well executed. Their banter is entertaining and the angst has been portrayed extremely well.
