Masters champion Scottie Scheffler is the headline name in the field at the 2024 RBC Heritage, which kicks off today at Harbour Town Golf Links.

Price at +400, the world No. 1 is the bookmakers’ favourite to take victory on Hilton Head Island, ahead of fellow American Xander Schauffele (+1200). Fresh from finishing second in Augusta last weekend, Sweden’s Ludvig Aberg is priced at +1400, as is Northern Ireland’s world No. 2, Rory McIlroy.

The field also includes the RBC Heritage’s defending champion, England’s Matt Fitzpatrick, as well as America’s Jordan Spieth and Webb Simpson, winners in 2022 and 2020, respectively.

Scheffler “not here just for fun”

Scheffler won the second green jacket of his career on Sunday, beating Aberg by four shots at the Augusta National Golf Club - but the 27-year-old says his celebrations are now firmly behind him and he’s focused for Business in Beaufort County, South Carolina.

“I left my pregnant wife at home to come here and play in a Golf tournament,” he declared. “I am here to play and hopefully play well. I’m not here just for fun.”
