The Jacksonville Jaguars have endured a challenging start to the 2024 NFL season and that is expected to continue in Sunday’s Week 11 game against the Detroit Lions (kickoff at 1pm ET), in which they will again be without quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Since being drafted by the Jaguars as the first overall pick in 2021, this will be just the third NFL Game ever missed by Lawrence, but the second in a row. The 25-year-old previously sat out the Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers in the 2023 season before missing last weekend’s defeat to the Minnesota Vikings.

How long will Trevor Lawrence be out for? Which games could he miss?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter initially reported the Tennessee native wouldn’t face the Vikings due to a left shoulder injury sustained in the first half of the previous weekend’s defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles. It has since been claimed by The Athletic that Lawrence has suffered a “severe” AC joint sprain which could keep him out for the remainder of the 2024 season.

After facing the Lions in week 11, Jacksonville have a bye in Week 12, which means more should be known about the quarterback’s condition by the time they play against the Houston Texans (December 1) in Week 13.

The Jaguars are bottom of AFC South after a 2-8 start to the season. The Lions, meanwhile, are top of NFC North as a result of their 8-1 record, which means they will be firm favourites to register another victory in Detroit.
