What did Dallas Mavericks’ Anthony Edwards promise the Dallas Cowboys’ Micah Parsons?
Some might say by the skin of their teeth, but the fact remains that the Minnesota Timberwolves avoided being swept by the Dallas Mavericks in Game 4 of the Western Conference on Tuesday. With that, there is a little breathing room but that hasn’t stopped the banter and the jokes.
Anthony Edwards & Micah Parson have a deal
As we already established, the Minnesota Timberwolves have another opportunity to stave off elimination when they meet the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals. With the Mavs leading 3-1 in the series, there is no wiggle room for the T’Wolves. However, it’s got to be said that the team seems to be fully aware of that and most of all, star shooting guard Anthony Edwards. That’s precisely why the 22-year-old’s light-hearted moment with a Mavericks fan drew attention, albeit a very famous fan.
Indeed, on Tuesday night Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons was seen in attendance and wearing a Luka Doncic jersey which makes sense to us. On the other hand, Parsons also wore a pair of Adidas AE1s - Edwards’ signature shoe. As you can probably guess, the defensive back’s choice in footwear did not go unnoticed, leading to a funny moment in the hallway post-Game when the pair came face to face.”What am I supposed to say? I’m supposed to say we are going to lose Game 5? No, I’ll never say that,” Edwards stated before leaving his postGame press conference. “Micah Parsons, you know, he was rocking the AE1′s and I told him, he wear a size 14, I’ll bring him back some nice shoes for Game 6. That’s what I told him.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time that Edwards has promised that he would be back. Do recall that he declared the same thing after the Timberwolves lost Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals, leaving the team 3-2 down to the Denver Nuggets. We know now that Minnesota’s star informed locker room staff at Ball Arena that he would be back for a Game 7, something which he ultimately delivered on such that his team is now in the conference finals. Of course, it’s worth noting that no team in NBA playoff history has ever overturned a 3-0 deficit. So, as we always say, watch this space. The Timberwolves will host the Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET. Don’t miss it!
