Club Brugge striker Ferran Jutgla is confident about his side’s upcoming visit to Celtic Park in the UEFA Champions League.

It comes after the Belgians ran riot at home to St. Truiden on Saturday afternoon, romping to a spectacular 7-0 victory.

Greek frontman Christos Tzolis scored four goals in under an hour as Ardon Jashari, Raphael Onyedika, and captain Hans Vanaken also got in on the act.

The Belgian champions are now high on confidence ahead of Wednesday, and striker Jutgla, who played just 20 minutes from the bench yesterday, is already looking forward to the match.

While he thinks it will be an even encounter, he insists he and his teaMMAtes won’t be scared by the famous Celtic Park European atmosphere: “This match looks very equal,” he said (RecordSport).

“We’ll go to Glasgow with good morale. To defeat Aston Villa was important for our team. It proved that Brugge aren’t just guests in the Champions League. We’re a club with a lot of pride who want to improve every game.

“Our challenge in the Champions League is to progress to the next phase. And I believe any points we can get at Celtic’s stadium will be really important for us in achieving that. Celtic are strong at home and the level of the Scottish Game is better now than it was a few years ago.

“We don’t fear the atmosphere in Glasgow. It’s just football and I prefer a stadium that’s full of people with a lot of pressure. That helps increase your performance level.”

Midweek will in no way be a simple affair for Celtic. Brugge should be difficult opposition.

They have a respectable pedigree at Champions League level, having reached the last 16 the season before last. Their recent 1-0 win over Aston Villa also caught the eye.

Celtic know three points on Wednesday will all but, according to Opta’s stats, see them secure a place in the top 24 of European Football’s elite club comPetition.

The stakes couldn’t be higher as Brendan Rodgers’ men look to extend their unbeaten home run in the Champions League to five matches.
