The Celtic Season Ticket Conundrum

Celtic supporters have once again shown the passion of its fanbase, with season tickets selling out. We’re now a month away from kick-off, the club announced that all season tickets for the 2024/25 season have been snapped up.

The renewal rate for this season has matched the impressive 99% from the previous year, showing the consistency and dedication of Celtic supporters. With only 1% of tickets available to those on the waiting list, the demand for season tickets continues to exceed supply by a significant margin.

The waiting list for season tickets has been closed for over two years due to overwhelming subscription numbers. This prolonged closure highlights the intense demand for a chance to watch Celtic play at Celtic Park, as fans remain eager to support their team in person.

However, an issue persists despite the sell-out status: empty seats during matches. Some season ticket holders are not using their tickets for every Game, resulting in noticeable gaps in the crowd while other eager fans remain locked out. This situation raises questions about whether Celtic can implement a solution to ensure fuller attendance and maximise the stadium’s atmosphere.

The club faces the challenge of addressing these empty seats to allow more fans the opportunity to attend Games. Potential solutions could include a ticket exchange programme, where season ticket holders unable to attend can offer their tickets to others, or implementing stricter usage policies to encourage better attendance.

As the season approaches, Celtic fans are once again showing their immense support and dedication. A double in the bag under Brendan Rodgers last season against the back drop of a very difficult campaign means the excitement for next season is building. Can Rodgers take this club to another level?
