The Celtic Youngster Who Deserves Pre-season Chance – Opinion
Pre-season is finally upon us with Celtic returning to action in less than a week.
The Bhoys head down to Somerset Park next Friday evening to take on Scott Brown’s Ayr United in their first friendly of the 2024/25 campaign.

With several key players having delayed summer breaks because of international duty, we could see some fresh faces gain opportunities in the Game, one of those being Matthew Anderson.
Just off the back of a respectable campaign in Austria’s second tier with Admira Wacker, Anderson should get a chance versus Ayr in the absence of Greg Taylor.
He made 22 appearances out on loan for Admira last season, registering seven goal contributions from left-back.
Quick and adept going forward, the 20-year-old has all the attributes a modern-day full-back should. He can carry the ball well, get up and down the line with ease, create chances, and is strong in his defensive work.
Games against Ayr and Queen’s Park would be ideal for Anderson to catch the eye and impress before the Celts head out to the USA.
Manager Brendan Rodgers is known for developing talent, and perhaps young Anderson could be the next prospect he turns his attention to.
