Twitter's 'incident' led to private tweets becoming public
Twitter finally commented on the technical issue the platform faced in April which exposed all of Twitter Circle's private tweets to the public. The company attributed the incident to “a security incident that occurred earlier this year.”
Twitter apologised for the issue and said that the bug was immediately fixed. “Twitter is committed to protecting the privacy of the people who use our service, and we understand the risks that an incident like this can introduce and we deeply regret this happened,” the platform stated.

The bug issue prompted a number of speculations in April, mostly because of Twitter's failing attempt to filter Circle tweets out of its recommendation algorithm and cope with the technical issues the company faced since Elon Musk's takeover.
