The Chicago White Sox and the Toronto Blue Jays meet Wednesday in MLB action from Rogers Centre. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a Toronto Blue Jays vs Chicago White Sox Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Chicago White Sox will start Mike Clevinger here and Clevinger is 0-2 with a 5.56 ERA and 10 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against the Blue Jays, Clevinger is 2-2 with a 5.33 ERA and 34 strikeouts. Chicago White Sox Recap

The Chicago White Sox come into this one looking to build on their 5-0 win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday, setting up a rubber match to decide the series victor. That would be a nice stepping stone for Chicago after being swept by the Yankees this past weekend.

White Sox Inconsistent At The Plate

Going into Tuesday’s matchup, Gavin Sheets leads the White Sox with a .246 batting average and a .350 OBP along with a team-high 13 doubles while Andrew Vaughn and Andrew Benintendi each have 3 home runs and a team-high 15 RBIs with Vaughn logging 9 doubles as well as a team-high 34 hits. Paul DeJong also has a team-high 7 home runs and 14 RBIs with a team-high 49 strikeouts as well this season.

Why the Chicago White Sox will win

  • The Blue Jays have lost each of their last eight Wednesday games against American League opponents.
  • The White Sox have won each of their last five night games after playing the previous day.
  • The Blue Jays have failed to cover the run line in each of their last six night games against AL Central opponents.
  • The White Sox have covered the run line in 14 of their last 16 road games against AL East opponents that held a losing record.
  • The Blue Jays have trailed after 5 innings in three of their last four games as favorites against AL Central opponents.

Toronto Blue Jays Recap

The Toronto Blue Jays will hope to bounce back after their loss to the White Sox on Tuesday, and a series win for Toronto is much needed after a disappointing series against the Rays this past weekend.

Just When You Think You Can Trust The Blue Jays Offense… You Can’t

Entering Tuesday, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. leads the Jays with 50 hits including a .286 batting average and .381 OBP along with 7 doubles, 4 home runs and 21 RBIs. Daulton Varsho has a team-high 8 home runs, 23 RBIs and 9 doubles while George Springer has a team-high 7 stolen bases. Davis Schneider has a team-high 10 doubles while Bo Bichette has 9 doubles and Guerrero Jr. has the unfortunate distinction of leading the Blue Jays with 39 strikeouts this season.

Why the Toronto Blue Jays will win

  • The Blue Jays have won eight of their last nine games against the White Sox.
  • The White Sox have lost seven of their last eight games at Rogers Centre.
  • The White Sox have failed to cover the run line in six of their last seven games at Rogers Centre.
  • The favorites have covered the run line in six of the White Sox’s last seven games at Rogers Centre.
  • The White Sox have trailed after 5 innings in each of their last five Wednesday night games against opponents that held a losing record.

Toronto Blue Jays vs Chicago White Sox Prediction

Despite the struggles on Tuesday, I’m going back to the Blue Jays here. Toronto’s simply the better team and if Toronto’s going to start to try to turn things around, it has to be in a very winnable spot like what they have here. Chris Bassitt’s a better pitcher than what we’ve seen for much of the year, and he is trending in the right direction, while Mike Clevinger gives up far too much hard contact for my liking. I think the Blue Jays get it done in this one. Give me the Blue Jays.

Chris Ruffolo's Free Pick: Toronto -217
