The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Philadelphia Phillies meet Sunday in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park. Here’s a Philadelphia Phillies vs Arizona Diamondbacks prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview

The Diamondbacks played the Washington Nationals in their early-week series. Arizona lost 3-1 in the Wednesday Game but otherwise took wins 5-0 and 5-2 to take the set. After a 5-4 win over Philly on Friday, in Game two the Diamondbacks took a blowout loss 12-1. Starter Tommy Henry coughed up six earned in 3.2 innings before exiting.

In the starter role for Sunday’s Game the Diamondbacks are sending out Slade Cecconi. This year Cecconi is 2-5 with a 5.90 ERA and 39 Ks in 50.1 innings over 10 Games (nine starts). In his career Cecconi is 2-6 with a 5.35 ERA in 17 Games (13 starts).

Philadelphia Phillies Betting Preview

Over on the Phillies’ side, they took on the San Diego Padres this week. Philadelphia won the first two installments of that set 9-2 and 4-3 before a 5-2 loss Wednesday spoiled the sweep. In Saturday’s matchup the Phillies posted 14 team hits. Zack Wheeler posted a nice 7.0 innings with just one earned on two hits and no walks.

It’ll be Christopher Sanchez in the starting pitcher role for Philly on Sunday. This year Sanchez is 4-3 with a 2.91 ERA in 14 starts. He has 66 Ks in 77.1 innings total. Sanchez is 10-10 with a 3.73 ERA over 55 career Games (36 starts).

Philadelphia Phillies vs Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction

I’ll stick with the Phillies. Sanchez had a spotty outing June 12 versus the Red Sox with four earned in 4.0 innings during a no-decision, but came back strong in his last outing. Sanchez managed 7.0 innings with one earned for a win versus the Padres in that one. As for Cecconi, he’s coming off a strong outing himself (6.0 clean innings) in a win over the Nationals.

On Saturday the Phillies were great on both sides. The pitching staff held Arizona to just two hits, and every Philly batter got on base at least once. I like Philly to keep rolling Sunday.
