The film, which debuted in Pakistan in 2022 and became a massive hit, is a remake of the 1979 cult classic Maula Jatt.

Directed by Bilal Lashari, the movie stars Fawad Khan as the iconic Maula Jatt, alongside Mahira Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi.

The film has earned widespread praise for its production quality and gripping storyline.

The producers shared the news with Indian fans, promising to reveal the list of cinemas where the movie will be screened soon.

The announcement has excited film enthusiasts across the border, who are eagerly awaiting its release.

The Legend of Maula Jatt garnered both critical and commercial success in Pakistan, reviving the legendary rivalry between Maula Jatt and Noori Nath, roles originally made famous by Sultan Rahi and Mustafa Qureshi in the original film.

Previously, after being delayed for roughly two years, The legend of Maula Jatt was finally freed of its legal entanglement and was set to release last year. After Sarwer Bhatti, the producer of the original film withdrew all cases.

Sarwer Bhatti denied all rumors of a financial settlement between himself and the producers of the film.

He instead attributed the decision to his desire for the welfare of local cinema.

"In my career I struggled a lot for the welfare of the local cinema and film industry. If the film industry could be strengthened by withdrawing the case, then I will do so. Surely more volume of local releases across the country would benefit the industry," he said.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, director Bilal Lashari assured that unlike its predecessor that catered mainly to the rural masses of Punjab, The legend of Maula Jatt is geared towards a larger market.

"The film transcends cultural and linguistic divides. A Sindhi will enjoy it as much as any Punjabi. The content will be very palatable to the new generation that in times to come will extend the immortality of the fictional characters, Maula And Noori," Lashari told The Express Tribune.
