Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers gave a coy reaction to Nicolas Kuhn’s recent form after the German netted yet again for the Hoops on Sunday.

Unsurprisingly, Kuhn was among the goals for Celtic at Rugby Park, scoring the second in their 2-0 win over Kilmarnock.

Played in behind by right-back Alistair Johnston, the 24-year-old’s rapid pace saw him latch on to the ball, drive in towards goal, and open up his body to finish past a helpless Robby McCrorie.

The wide man also played a part in the Hoops’ opener, laying off Callum McGregor before his cross-come shot found the back of the net.

Kuhn now has 10 goals and 11 assists for the season in less than 20 appearances. He is reaching unthinkable heights, although boss Rodgers remains grounded surrounding his form.

“It’s absolutely brilliant,” Rodgers said about Kuhn’s numbers this season [The Celtic Way].

“But that’s his job. That’s why the money’s in his bank every month. He makes that contribution, and he’s been so good.”

It has been quite the week for Kuhn. He scored one and set up another against Aberdeen in last Saturday’s League Cup semi-final before sinking his old employers, RB Leipzig, midweek with a brace and resultant man-of-the-match performance.

Central once more in Ayshire yesterday, Kuhn registered another goal and assist to help put Killie to the sword.

The January signing has been Celtic’s player of the season so far and is only getting better by the Game.
