Dave Portnoy recently had a mole removed from his neck after discovering he had skin cancer.

The Barstool Sports founder, 47, shared the news while appearing on Wednesday’s episode of his “BFFs” podcast with co-hosts Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia and Josh Richards.

“Do you have a scratch on your neck? Like a cut?” LaPaglia asked Portnoy, to which he replied, “Yeah.”

Portnoy said that LaPaglia was the “first person to ask” about his wound, which was sealed closed with stitches.

“Yeah, cancer,” Portnoy said, confirming his diagnosis, adding that he “beat it though.”

Portnoy agreed that he most likely got skin cancer from laying in the sun all day without sunscreen.

However, the internet personality brushed off the severity of his condition and said it’s “not scary.”

“I mean it is but it’s not. I add it to my list,” he continued. “I’ve had a heart attack, cancer and stung by bees. Beat it all,” he said.

Portnoy discovered his cancer after he went to the doctor for a routine skin check.

“So it was a mole. I’m starting to get on top of myself so I went to a doctor, did the skin thing and they scrape it and one of them came back as, like, cancerous, so it’s like, ‘Boop, gotta take it out,’” he said.

The sports commentator says the doctor “cut it the f–k out” and he needed about 10 to 12 stitches.

“I don’t want to be like, ‘Oh, I have cancer, feel bad for me,’” he said, adding, “It was only a basal. If you’re gonna get cancer, it’s the best [kind to have].”

Basal cell carcinoma is a form of skin cancer that most often develops on areas of skin exposed to the sun, according to the Mayo Clinic, who suggests using sunscreen regularly to avoid it.

Portnoy joked that he was upset that no one commented on his massive wound after he posted a video on Instagram Monday following the procedure, saying he “really wanted sympathy.”

“I was getting to the point where I was going to re-cut this thing open and start bleeding until somebody will be like, ‘What is going on?’ I mean, this is a huge f–king scar and nobody is saying anything,” he laughed. “It looks like I got stabbed.”

Portnoy said that he didn’t want to “complain” because he knowingly tans in the sun without using SPF.

“Yeah, no listen, you don’t hear me complaining about it,” he said.

He thanked LaPaglia for asking him about his scar, and told his employees, “I have the right to say I’m a cancer survivor now.”
