Reports suggesting that Superstar Rajinikanth’s home in Poes Garden, Chennai, was flooded following continuous rains on October 15 have been dismissed.

Rajinikanth’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Riaz Ahmed, took to social media to clarify that the actor's residence was not inundated, quelling the rumours circulating online.

"Reports circulating about flooding at #Superstar @rajinikanth's residence are false. Everyone is safe and sound," Ahmed posted on his official social media account, assuring fans that the actor and his property were unaffected.

Though Poes Garden experienced waterlogging due to the heavy downpour, images of flooded streets in the vicinity likely contributed to the false speculation that Rajinikanth’s luxurious villa had been impacted.

The clarification from the PRO has since resolved any concerns.

The misinformation spread rapidly online, but the statement from an official source ensures that there is no need to worry regarding Rajinikanth’s home.

Earlier reports had ignited speculation about a potential collaboration between Indian cinema icons Rajinikanth and Mani Ratnam, exciting fans with the prospect of a reunion after 33 years.

However, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, the director’s wife, has stepped in to clarify the situation.

In a recent interview with News18, Suhasini humorously dismissed the rumors, stating that neither Rajinikanth nor her husband were aware of any such film project.

She labeled the speculation as unfounded, remarking, “I don’t think even Rajinikanth and Mani know about it (laughs). It’s only people who’re writing about it.”

The last time Rajinikanth and Mani Ratnam teamed up was for the 1991 film Thalapathi, and fans have long awaited the chance to see their dynamic on screen once more. Despite the buzz, it appears that this rumored project will not come to fruition. At the audio launch of Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 1, Rajinikanth, who was present as the chief guest, reflected on his challenging experience working with Mani in their last film.

He shared, “It was tough to act in the film. As an actor, I had a set of stock expressions. For love, I had some, and similarly some for basic emotions. Mani didn’t accept any. I remember him telling me how to feel. I asked what I should feel.”

On the professional front, Rajinikanth's latest film Vettaiyan, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, is currently in theaters. He is also set to star in the action thriller Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which is scheduled for release in 2025.
