Not only do we get early hockey, but it’s set to be about as close of a matchup as possible. The Sens are just slight favorites at home, but we’re going to be backing the Wings to pull off the slight upset. After all, they did already take down Ottawa a couple weeks ago. That was a rather convincing 5-2 victory, which was also on the road. While both teams have the ability to find the back of the net, the Detroit defense has taken a step up since recent seasons, led by youngster Moritz Seider. 

That’s why despite both teams being high-scoring, the Wings are in third in the Atlantic at 8-5-2, while the Sens are dead last in the division. This is also another rematch against a former team for Alex DeBrincat, who has been thriving in Detroit. The Michigan native has fit right in, leading the team in goals with 10 through 15 games.
