‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ Cast Reveal Conflict Will ‘Explode to a Point of No Return’
Things are getting a bit frosty between the ladies of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City as they embark on another season of feuds, friendship and fabulosity. “Let’s just say everyone is a drama queen in Season 5,” Angie Katsanevas exclusively tells Life & Style. “It was a collective effort.” Here, Angie and castmates Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, returning fave Mary Cosby and newbie Bronwyn Newport talk to Life & Style’s Fortune Benatar about who’s on the outs and who’s made peace.
What can viewers expect from the rest of the season?
Meredith: Expect coNFLict to explode to a point of no return.
Lisa: I wasn’t born or raised in Salt Lake City, and I feel like the culture here has a very different understanding of “real” friendship.
Who brings the most drama?
Heather: Angie.
Bronwyn: I wish I could say it wasn’t me — but is it? Am I the problem? We all had our ups and downs and lots to say.
Lisa: I felt like it was me. Mostly because I’m over the optics of a friendship versus a real relationship.
Whitney: Everyone brings their fair share, but there are some recurring trends with Meredith and Lisa. Angie, there’s been some tension between you and Lisa.
Angie: I love and care about Lisa and her family. We haven’t connected much lately. We both need our space for now.
We also see some issues between Lisa and Whitney.
Lisa: I fundamentally don’t trust Whitney. I wanted to have a real relationship with her, but time and time again, she lies. At this point, I don’t even know if she knows what’s true or not. A relationship with her feels dangerous.
Whitney: Our relationship is non-existent. I was upset at first, but I’ve moved on. I pour my energy into meaningful friendships with people I can trust.
Heather, you reached a truce with Whitney last season after taking a “friendship break.”
Heather: We’ve gotten better at supporting each other and trying not to take sides.
Deal of the Day
These ‘Cloud-Soft’ Sandals Are 53% Off Today View DealMeredith, how’s it going with Mary and Whitney?
Meredith: Friendships are an evolution. People’s actions and behaviors change the dynamics. Moving forward, I think our friendships will just be different.
Mary, how about you and Meredith?
Mary: I don’t know if my relationship with Meredith can be repaired, so I don’t want to speak on it. I can say that I don’t hold grudges.
Bronwyn, you’re the newbie, but Christian Siriano just praised you as being one of the only Housewives who actually pays for his designs! Tell us more about yourself.
Bronwyn: The first thing viewers will notice is my desire to always turn a look! I’m never afraid to express myself — sartorially or verbally! My willingness to be brutally honest comes at a price.
What’s your biggest takeaway from your first season?
Bronwyn: That female friendships are complicated, but so worth it.
