Auston Trusty Addresses Celtic Fans After Standout Champions League Display
Celtic earned a hard-fought point on the road in the UEFA Champions League last night, much to the surprise of many.
The Hoops remained stout in Bergamo, refusing to budge and show any defensive frailties that were heavily apparent in Dortmund a few weeks ago.
To a man, particularly at the back, the Bhoys were terrific.
Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel stepped up to the mark with some elite saves and catches, as Alex Valle remained solid at left back.
At the heart of Celtic’s backline, centre-half duo Liam Scales and Auston Trusty completed an Italian job Paolo Maldini would have been proud of.
Trusty particularly caught the eye, remaining dominant in the air and relatively fine with the ball at his feet.
The American has had several critics over the past few Games, but one feels that last night was the making of him in a Celtic jersey.
Post-match, he took to Instagram, hailing his side’s ‘great’ away point and thanking the ever-present away supporters:

Trusty can feel unfortunate not to have won the Champions League’s Player of the Match award yesterday evening.
The 26-year-old was well-founded at the back and looked very much like a £6m defender.
Both Trusty and Celtic can build on last night’s performance and result, with back-to-back European home Games now on the horizon.
