PSG’s revenge social media troll on Barcelona after Champions League win
Paris Saint Germain eliminated FC Barcelona from the Champions League after winning the second leg of the quarterfinals 4-1 on Tuesday, making it a 6-4 aggregate win. After humiliating them on the field, PSG took to social media to make a mockery of a troll post Barça had made to them earlier.
The original post from Barcelona showed a photo of the Mona Lisa - one of the most-visited paintings in the Louvre in Paris - wearing a Barcelona shirt, with many visitors taking photographs. Just hours after their victory, PSG posted a response troll - a video, which zoomed out from the painting of the Mona Lisa in a Barça shirt to an even larger painting above it, with team captain Marquinhos celebrating the win behind a Barcelona player. It then pans to the title of the painting in French, “The Battle of Montjuic”. It was posted with the caption in Spanish: “Art”.
In addition to the painting troll Barcelona had posted, they also posted a video of a hot air balloon with the club’s crest and colors floating next to the Eiffel Tower. PSG posted a response with the balloon deflated in the Seine river with the caption in French, “It’s five o’clock, Paris is waking up”.
And to top it off, PSG left one last post, with Kylian Mbappé placing a PSG flag on top of Barcelona’s famous Sagrada Familia:
