With their win on the road in Game 6, the Boston Celtics were able to set up one last clash with the Philadelphia 76ers for all the marbles. While they will seemingly have the advantage of playing in Boston, they have dropped 2 of the 3 home games in this series. The winner of this game will be heavily favoured in the next round to beat the Miami Heat, meaning there is a potential NBA Finals berth on the line.

76ers vs Celtics first basket best bet: Joel Embiid (+310)

The Boston Celtics decided to shake things up for Game 6 of the series, moving Robert Williams III into the starting lineup. And while he may be more explosive than Al Horford and better suited to jumping at the opening tip, he could not prevent Joel Embiid from giving the Philadelphia 76ers the first possession. In this series the 76ers have had the ball first in 5 of the 6 Games. With the size of Embiid, look for the same to be the case today.

The reigning MVP should be a great selection to open the scoring too as he has done so in 3 of the last 5 Games in the series. Neither of the Celtics’ bigs have the bulk to keep him out of the low block, or the length to impact his mid-range jump shot. He is also averaging 10.8 free-throw attempts per Game and making 88.9% from the charity stripe. With the Celtics having both their bigs in the starting lineup, there is not much depth behind them on the bench. If the 76ers can use Embiid to get them in early foul trouble, it could shift the dynamic of the Game. Look for them to turn to him first once more. After all, no other 76er has opened the scoring for the team more often this season.
