The Milwaukee Bucks are looking to emulate their 2020-21 season when the team from Wisconsin delivered their first ever NBA Championship with a win over Phoenix in the finals.

Hopes are high among Bucks fans again with the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference having little trouble in swatting the Pacers aside in the opening game of the playoffs with one player instrumental in the 109-94 win.

Damian Lillard played a key role in the game, activating his Playoff Dame mode and leading the team to a decisive victory over the Pacers with the game marking Lillard’s return to the playoffs since 2021.

With now Giannis for the Bucks, the 34-year-old took centre stage by scoring 35 points in the first half of his initial playoff Game with Milwaukee.

Speaking after the win, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers claimed: “He’s got that prizefighter-like mentality. It’s almost like he’s training for the fight. When the bell rings, he seems to be ready.”

Lillard has never made an NBA Finals with his former team in Portland with the player progressing to the Conference Finals with the Trailblazers in 2109 but came up against an unstoppable Golden State and fell 4-0 in the series.
