'Absolute must-watch:' 'Heeramandi' shines in early celeb reviews

Even before the upcoming release of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus was creating an unshakeable buzz. A brilliant cast, magnificent, intricately crafted sets, and a couple of comebacks teased audiences, with the anticipation mounting for the series to release on Netflix on May 1. Now, initial Celebrity reviews have begun to flood social media platforms, offering a glimpse into what viewers can expect from this grand production.

As per News18 and India Today, Netflix India recently hosted a star-studded premiere event for the series, drawing larger-than-life names from Bollywood and beyond to witness the spectacle firsthand. Neetu Kapoor, Soni Razdan, Rashmika Mandanna, Ananya Panday, Karan Johar, and many more, alongside prominent figures from the television industry such as Ankita Lokhande and Munawar Faruqui attended the event. Also among the esteemed attendees were huge stalwarts such as Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Rekha, and Genelia Deshmukh, many of whom wasted no time in sharing their impressions of the show. 

Genelia, taking to her Instagram Stories, expressed her admiration for Sanjay's vision, declaring, "Just saw two episodes of Heeramandi, and it has me craving for more. What a world, what a journey you take us through, Sanjay Sir. Mesmerised as always. Loved, loved, loved the entire cast and what a super effort by the crew too. Netflix, this is truly special."

Meanwhile, Esha Deol was effusive in her praise for Fardeen Khan's performance, hailing it as a triumphant return to the screen. "Spectacular show. Welcome back, Fardeen Khan, proud of you," she wrote, accompanied by a heart emoji, on her Instagram post. Tanishaa Mukerji echoed similar sentiments, branding the offering as "an absolute must-watch," while Harshvardhan Rane lauded the series for its meticulously crafted plot, dubbing it one of the best-written narratives in recent memory.

The series, set in pre-independent, British-ruled India, unfolds against the backdrop of the elite house of courtesans, promising an immersive journey into a world of intrigue, glamour, and societal upheaval. Featuring a stellar ensemble cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Shaikh, alongside Fardeen Khan, Adhyayan Suman, and Shekhar Suman in pivotal roles, Heeramandi has generated immense buzz for its grandeur and storytelling prowess.
