MLB Mega Parlay Picks for Saturday at +860 odds | Pickswise

The weekend in Major League Baseball heats up with a more than full 16-game slate on Saturday. That’s because the Braves and Mets are contesting a doubleheader in New York. Meanwhile, 3 evening games will be regionally televised on FOX: the Braves at Mets nightcap, Angels at Astros and Brewers at White Sox. Meanwhile, the schedule wraps up with a showdown on FS1 between Baltimore and Seattle.

Below is my mega parlay for Saturday, and also be sure to check out all of our MLB picks.

Athletics ML (+126)

Braves -1.5 (-130)

Diamondbacks -1.5 (+140)

MLB parlay odds: +860

For this parlay we are going with 2 favorites on the run line and an underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Athletics ML over Nationals (+126)

Luis Medina is showing some encouraging signs when it comes to the future — and the present, for that matter — of the Athletics. In 22.0 innings of work during July he allowed just 7 earned runs on 1 homer while striking out 27 batters and walking only 5. For someone with a 10.8 K-BB% on the season, seeing that improvement was massive. Washington is a team that rarely walks due to its absurdly high chase rates and is a team that struggles to make a meaningful impact on the ball. The Nationals rank 29th in hard-hit rate against RHP across the last 30 days with the 10th-lowest BB%, and on the season they are 28th in BB% and 25th in HH%. Meanwhile, Nationals starter Jake Irvin comes in with a 4.87 ERA, a 5.47 FIP and a 5.09 SIERA. Oakland doesn’t feature a ton of pop but does sport an 11.2% BB% against RHP in the last 30 days. Give me the A’s to win outright.

Braves -1.5 over Mets (-130)

Spencer Strider and Jose Quintana get the starting nods for the second leg of this NL East doubleheader. These teams are in completely different worlds right now. The Braves have a comfortable lead in the East and are odds-on World Series favorites, while the Mets are only 2 Games above the Nationals for last place in the division. Getting back on track with a Cy Young candidate on the opposing mound is a tough ask for any ball club. Strider has been allowing more runs than usual of late, but this Mets’ offense presents a perfect opportunity for him to get back on track with a quality start. He posts a 3.94 ERA and 1.13 WHIP paired with an excellent 3.14 xERA 2.78 xFIP. Quintana has been decent in 4 starts, but Atlanta’s lineup is light years more dangerous than that of New York.

Diamondbacks -1.5 over Padres (+140)

The Padres are starting Rich Hill, who has a 4.76 ERA through 22 starts with a 7-10 record. The 43-year-old is the oldest active player in the MLB and he is showing his age. He has pitched only 1 Game for San Diego and it was an 8-2 loss to the Dodgers. He will be opposed by the current favorite to win the NL Cy Young Award, Zac Gallen. The right-hander is sporting a 3.37 ERA with an 11-5 record. He has a 26.3 K percentage and a 5.2 BB percentage. That doesn’t bode well for the Padres, who have been struggling recently and are 1-4 in their last 5 Games. It is true that the Diamondbacks are skidding to an even greater extent, but Gallen alone tips the scales in their favor.
