One of several positions in the Celtic team which needs addressing this summer is left-back.

In the second half of the season gone by, Greg Taylor was the only natural option in said area with Alexandro Bernabei shipped out on loan to Internacional.

The Argentine doesn’t appear to have a long-term future in Glasgow and at the end of the January transfer window, the Hoops were in the market for a left-back.

Layvin Kurzawa was widely linked with a switch from Paris to Scotland, but a more realistic option appeared to be Harrison Burrows.

Celtic were said to have made an initial approach for the Peterborough captain but didn’t pursue their interest any further.

With 21 goal contributions from defence in 2023/24 in the league for his side, Burrows had a sensational campaign.

If the champions were thinking of returning to the negotiating table this summer for a move, their hopes have been dashed.

According to The Peterborough Telegraph (via The News), Burrows has been booked in for a medical with English Championship outfit Sheffield United, with a move imminent.

Burrows would have been an exciting addition to the Parkhead ranks, but the Bhoys don’t seem interested because up against Sheffield United, they could have more than won the race for his signature.
