Joe Hart Hails Alistair Johnston as “On Fire” Amid Scoring Streak for Celtic
Celtic right-back Alistair Johnston has been in sensational form this season, finding the back of the net four times—putting him level with Celtic teammates Callum McGregor, Kyogo Furuhashi, and Luke McCowan in the league scoring charts.
His newfound scoring prowess has seen Johnston tied for third overall in the league, a remarkable feat for a defender with only two goals in the previous three seasons combined.
Johnston has deliberately added a more attacking edge to his Game this year, frequently positioning himself on the edge of the box before making timely runs to capitalise on loose balls and crosses. This tactical shift has paid dividends, with the Canadian international reaping the rewards of his advanced positioning and sharp anticipation.
Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart was quick to acknowledge Johnston’s form, responding to his Instagram post with the comment, “on fire,” a sentiment many fans would agree with.
Hart had a firsthand view of Johnston’s all-around performance last week in Atalanta, where the right-back delivered a standout display. Despite picking up an early yellow card, Johnston held firm, fending off relentless attacks and proving his reliability on the European stage.
He’s been a great signing for the Hoops, and it’s no surprise to see him take the captain’s armband in recent weeks.
