After 12 rounds of matches in Liga MX, the top positions are starting to take shape as the tournament heads into its final stretch. América continue to lead the comPetition, holding a five-point advantage over their closest pursuers, Tigres. Mexican Football, like others, is now on a break for the October FIFA international window, with no activity scheduled for at least 15 days.

With their victory in Mazatlán, América added three more to their tally, reaching 27 points. This puts them in an extremely strong position to secure a spot in the Apertura 2023 playoffs. Tigres, on the other hand, are trailing by five points after failing to secure a win, picking up just a point in their draw against Pachuca.

In third position, Pumas have a two-point lead over Atlético de San Luis, who appear to be losing ground after initially leading the overall table. They do, though, have a Game in hand over those above them.

Necaxa stuck at the bottom

After yet another home defeat, Necaxa’s Rayos will continue to occupy the bottom spot in the standings, having managed to accumulate only eight points in the current tournament. With 10 points, Mazatlán is second to last, and Cruz Azul, following a heavy defeat against Universidad Nacional, currently sits in 16th.
