The two-year-old is a dual winner having registered his second success when drawing eight-and-a-quarter-lengths clear of his rivals in a similar race to this over five-and-a-half-furlongs on a sloppy track at Indiana Downs last month. The gelding placed second when beaten a neck in a $50,000 claiming event here when returning to a fast main track. The drop in grade here is in his favour and he looks capable of returning to winning ways with Edgar Morales booked to ride. 

3:01 pm Churchill Downs (Race 5) – Free Look 9/5 (2-star play)

The daughter of Tapit has made just two starts this year but she has delivered solid efforts on each occasion including when fourth in the Grade 3 Florida Oaks over a mile-and-one-sixteenth at Tampa Bay Downs in March. Last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies’ Turf fifth has been off the track since a third in an allowance over the same trip at Belmont Park in May and she looks up to resuming with a victory for trainer Brad Cox. 

4:33 pm Churchill Downs (Race 8) – Fearless Soldier 5/2 (2-star play)

Todd Pletcher’s colt registered his second career success when making all the running to score by four lengths in an allowance over a mile-and-five-sixteenths at Kentucky Downs at the start of September. The City Of Light colt performed well upped to stakes company when four lengths third in a mile-and-a-quarter-contest held on a sloppy main track at Aqueduct subsequently. The return to turf is in the picks favour and he is taken to salute in this contest.
